Today we celebrated the Asian Pacific American Heritage month at the Palmer-Munroe Community Center. There were cultural performances, martial arts demonstrations, country-wide booths, ethnic vendors, and Asian cuisine.

ACT Chair Clyde welcomed everyone, as the Chairman-Elect I read-out the proclamation by the Governor of Florida, Charlie Crist designating May 2009 as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, our organizer Aurora read-out the proclamation by Tallahassee City Mayor John Marks.

Our group performed at noon with the repeat staging of the great Indian epic The Ramayana written originally by Karena Merchant, modified and narrated by me, with music by Srinivasa Kishore. About eight kids participated in the program and there were about 80 people in the audience.
