First we were all seated the host arrived. We all stood up and bowed to each other. There was guest in the main chair. The host meticulously set-up the tea cup, ladle, mixer, and tea box. The she cleaned the tea bowl with hot water. She then wiped it clean with a cloth. She then slowly added hot water and tea (green) powder. Using all bamboo mixer she mixed it well and turned the cup the right side toward the guest. The companion host brought the cup to the guest. The guest bowed and accepted the cup. Drank the tea, cleaned the cup and set it aside. The host asked about the tea and he answered. Then he examined the beauty of the tea cup. The companion host picked up the cup and brought it back to the host. Once learning the guest doen't need any more tea she slowly cleaned the cup and added some extra water to the tea kettle. The whole process taking about 30 minutes with very slow movements and very few conversational exchanges.
We had a great experience.

One of the members of our Asian Coalition of Tallahassee invited us to his house for Japanese way of Tea (Chado). About half dozen people arrived at his house. Then our host explained to us what is being done while the first part of the ceremony was conducted.
