Father's Day Trip and Dinner
Father's Day trip to Wakulla Springs 100th Anniversary of Father's Day Celebration Dinner at Olive Gardens Sunday, June 21, 2009; 12:00 to 3:30 PM Wakulla Springs, Wakulla, FL Today VTS, PKB, and I went out to Wakulla Springs State Park to enjoy the WakullaSprings. The park is about 21 miles from Tallahassee, FL and takes about 40 minutes to drive. We picked up some swim goggles for VTS and headed to the park. It was a really a hot day. The water level in the spring has also receded a bit. We arrived after paying the entrance fee of $4 (four US dollars) around 12:50 PM and headed to the spring. There the two of them swam for about 1 1/2 hours and by 2:30 PM they were ready to head home. I also needed to pick my car after repair. We arrived home by 3:30 PM and headed to the repair shop. We then went to Olive Gardens restaurant for Father's Day Dinner. We had Cappelini Pomodoro (angel hair pasta) with tomatos, Fettucini Alfredo, and artichoke, broccoli pasta.

Members of the India Association of Tallahassee (www.iatlh.org) set-up a small booth where they provided henna hand painting and demonstration of how to wear a sari. This evening was organized as part of "Art on a String: Asian Kites" exhibit that is currently open at the museum.
About dozen people attended the program. Some of them had their hands done with henna while others wore a sari and took pictures.

I was at the reception for the program Art on a String: Asian Kites Exhibit at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art & Science, 350 South Duval Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301.
Big Bend Filipino Association and India Association of Tallahassee performed a dance and music at the reception.
The third floor of the museum had large number of kites from various Asian countries like, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, China, India, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan.

20th Anniversary Celebration at BHPS
Betton Hills Preparatory School Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The school year 2008-09 is the 20th year anniversary of Betton Hills Preparatory and the school celebrated the occasion by inviting past and current students, parents, and teachers, to the Thomasville Road campus on Sunday, May 31st between 12 Noon and 6:00 p.m. During the celebration students who have graduated earlier mingled with current students and spoke about their fond memories of the school.
Current students were able to catch with other older friends who have to high school in and around Tallahassee. Students from several graduating years were present.
Five-member local band, Ego Tree was playing music throughout the afternoon entertaining the crowd. Teachers and staff prepared fresh food and drinks for those who had gathered. Parents went through class rooms to look at photos, videos, and art works of past and present students. In all everyone had a wonderful afternoon.
